The following is a link to an article about a program that is iffy at best.
It is a program for delinquint kids to make them attend school.
It requires an ankle bracelet with full time monitoring. NOT just at school.
That’s rather invasive, plus it doesn’t get these kids what they really need — therapy.
Plus school is NOT mandatory. It is LEGAL to not go to school. How to go about doing it depends on the state, but EVERY state in the U.S.A. has provisions for homeschooling.
So for a judge to make a blanket statement like that which isn’t true shows her ignorance of the law.
If she really doesn’t know the law, should she be a judge?
It’s shocking how many people feel judges “know all” but the reality is that they don’t.
They are only required to have a “reasonable” knowledge of general laws. This is why it is cruicial to have an attorney well versed in the area of law you need.

Personally I feel that there are more effective ways to deal with these problems that get right now to the root issue.
Plus there are no long term studies showing this really works.
Who says these kids don’t just fake it till they can get the bracelet removed and then go back to doing what they were before?
It’s something I’d have to research…
