So I went in to get my daughter a Tetanus shot today because she stepped on a carpet nail barefoot.
The doctor was this cute, petite, asian lady who seemed very nice… I had no idea what was in store.
She comes in and tells me that they don’t have a seperate vail for just the tetanus vaccine and starts pushing her agenda on me to have this other shot done!
Now I’ve done some serious research on vaccines, and have studied nutrition and the body for over 10 years now. The body is far less likely to have any of those controversial side effects that some kids get (like seziurs or autism) if the shots are administered separately.
Now some doctors are just brilliant and go ahead and order them for you that way.
But this lady was just a big bully. She wouldn’t work with me. She acted like I was an extremist or stupid. She wouldn’t order them. She just said, “WEll, you’ll have to go to the Public Health Nurse.”
“Fine.” I said, “What’s the address?”
She mumbled something, and then gave me an incomplete address.
Fine. I thought. I’ll just go look it up.
But, what a stinker she was. It was one of those battles of the will, which are very subtle, but just as important as any battle could be.
I wasn’t going to risk weird complications just to suit her agenda!
I was shaking during and afterwards, and then I went home and ranted and raved to my husband about it, who told me, “Good job standing up for yourself.”
Yes, I guess so. Apparently I won the battle of the wills, because we left without the shot.
I think it’s VERY strange that a nurse should have a better selection of vaccines to give you than any doctor.
What’s the deal with that?!
Now we’ve got to go get the shot that my daughter REALLY needs tomorrow.
What a pain! I’ve never really run into a “Bully Doctor” before, so this whole thing was new to me.
